Make a ritual out of the use of these cosmetics, a daily ritual reminding you to meditate upon these concepts. One Sunday afternoon I found myself facing a crisis - with my own identity. I knew that my life's mission was to spread the word that there is often a problem of perception in the modern world we live in. We believe that our lives are determined by external events, by other people. But that's not the case! Our whole life depends on us. We build our lives day by day, and in the moment in which we live, only the best is possible. I had all this in my head -and suddenly I thought of my work. I make cosmetic products. Cosmetics represent the ultimate in vanity, in excess, in putting appearances before being. How could I continue to work on this based on my earlier thoughts? I seriously thought about chucking it all in and dedicating myself to my life's mission. I thought about the financial implications that this decision would have had on myself and my family. But at the end of the day, it didn't mean quite that much to me. It really was a moment of crisis for me. How could I contribute to getting people to live for the moment? IDEASThen I hit upon the idea of simply writing, as I sometimes do. Just writing intuitively, without thinking. So, very slowly, the seed of an idea was planted. To begin with, I didn't really understand it: What I had written told me that I should focus on advertising and communication. But I couldn't see how that tied in with my crisis. But then I understood that communication needed to be revolutionised. A product which aims to fight for what I believe in could have this effect. So I came upon the idea of communication based on the use of cosmetics in order to increase consideration, love and respect for oneself.Then I had the idea of writing a few clear thoughts on a piece of paper which I would enclose with the cosmetic products. It would be displayed in the bathroom and could be read every morning and evening, during those intimate moments every person spends alone in just their own company. This thought has now spread to other areas. Perhaps it can be the root of a form of communication which does not aim to increase consumption, but to improve self-love and self-esteem. |
